Individual Development

Individual development is a fundamental part of being a member of the Kelowna Jaycees.  Everything from professional training to developing interpersonal skills, all voluntary and all in a welcoming environment.

Training
• We offer a diverse range of training to our members at our monthly meetings, including Member Spotlights, business training, hands-on recreational training, guest speakers, etc.  This is done to further the professional and personal development of our members, and apply this training as a tool to increase membership and participation, as well as to ensure we are seen as the premier business development organization in Kelowna.

Effective Speaker Training and Competition
• Members will be able to participate in training specifically on public speaking, and have an opportunity to enter the Effective Speaking Competition locally, regionally and nationally.

LOTS Training
• Our elected executive gets to particpate in LOTS training to learn about JCI and our responsibilities within the organization.

Social Opportunities
• To provide our membership with ample social opportunities through our various social events, such as:

  • Monthly Social Night -  meet for drinks or recreational activities in a casual environment.
  • Houseboat Meeting - enjoy a meeting on the waters of Lake Okanagan.
  • Camping/Fishing Trip - a weekend of fishing/camping trip somewhere in the Okanagan.
  • Golf Tournament - enjoy each others company over the wonderfully maddening game of golf.
  • Beach Meeting - take our regular monthly meeting to a relaxed beach environment
  • Gun Club Event  - to enjoy a meeting while learning to shoot.
  • Big White Family Fun Day - To provide the opportunity for our members to bring their family and friends to the Big White ski area for a day of fun and relaxation.
